Shoe Storage Cabinet: Organize your Shoes with a Shoe Cabinet

Do you ever have trouble finding your shoes? Are they all tossed in the bottom of a closet? Maybe you’ve got them hanging on the back of a door on a cheap, plastic rack which bangs every time you open or shut the door. There are a lot more sophisticated solutions than that for shoe storage. This article is going to explore different types of shoe cabinets which are available.

You can start with a basic shoe cubby. These are great space savers, and they keep your shoes visible and easy to find. It’s basically a wooden cabinet with an open front. The interior is divided into individual compartments for shoe storage. You can sit a shoe cubby on the floor of your closet where it will keep shoes organized, neat, and out of the way. If you choose, you can also sit a cubby out in your bedroom for easy access. If you own a lot of shoes, some models are designed so that you can stack several units to make more storage.

A step up from the basic cubbies is cubbies with doors on them to keep your shoes hidden from view. These cubbies actually look just like pieces of furniture until you open the doors. With these cabinets you’re able to store your shoes in about a third of the space it took with the regular old shoe racks. They will store approximately 15-48 pairs of shoes depending on the style you buy. You can get them in white or several wood-grained colors to match your décor.

Drop-down shoe cabinets are great ways to hide shoes away and keep them easily accessible. These cabinets have doors that tip down. When you open one it will display your shoes all neatly-arranged in rows. Some cabinets have two of these fold-out shelves and others have three. Once again, these racks look just like furniture. You can buy inexpensive models made of pressed board and melamine laminate which are sturdy enough to give you years of service.

There are other shoe storage options which aren’t as fancy as the shoe cabinets, but they serve a purpose. Some of the choices available are:

  • Revolving chrome shoe trees which stand 3 tiers high and hold 18 pairs of shoes.
  • Canvas organizers which hang in your closet and hold 10 pairs of shoes.
  • Stacking metal and plastic racks that can hold up to 50 pairs of shoes.
  • Underbed vinyl shoe chests that zip shut to store out-of-season shoes.
  • Expandable shoe racks which can be contracted or expanded to fit the space you have.

As you can see, there are many options available for keeping your shoes neat and organized. The old metal shoe racks are a thing of the past as all of these new and better choices have come onto the market. You’ll find that there are many online stores that sell a variety of different models. There’s sure to be an option that will fit your needs.
